This isn’t about Karen.

This is about why America should still care.

Karen Selena Hill represents thousands of first responders whose service did not end when the smoke cleared from Lower Manhattan. Like so many responders, she answered the call without hesitation. Fifteen years later, she was diagnosed with World Trade Center-related breast cancer. She spent the next decade fighting the disease before passing away on March 11, 2026.

As our nation commemorates the 25th anniversary of September 11, Karen’s story reminds us that the attacks did not end in 2001.

They continue to shape families, communities, and lives today.

Her story is one of sacrifice.
